MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Mental Health First Aid
- Mental health issues such as stress, depression and anxiety account for almost 70 million days off sick per year.
- Just some of the mental health issues that commonly affect employees across businesses of all types include: depression, anxiety, panic attacks and others many of which often remain hidden until an individual requires crisis help.
- This costs the UK economy between £70 and £100 billion per year.
- 60% of employees say they’d feel more motivated and more likely to recommend their organisation as a good place to work if their employer took action to support mental health and wellbeing.
What is mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach you how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.
We deliver Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training across Cheshire and Manchester. Our MHFA Instructor is approved by MHFA England to deliver Adult MHFA courses. The training is fully certified and follows the internationally recognised Mental Health First Aid England (Adult) course.
Our training is open to anyone over 18 years of age including employers, professionals, service providers, carers, service users, and the general public.

It aims to ensure participants keep their awareness of mental health supports current; update their knowledge of mental health and what influences it; and practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan.

The course was great, so informative, and refreshing to be with people who were open with their own experiences of mental ill health.
I’ll be recommending it to everyone!

The 2 day Adult MHFA course was well executed by Katie Bancroft, the amount of new things I learnt was astounding.
It has helped broaden my outlook and skills on mental health illness so I am more able and confident to be there for others as well as being more aware of my own mental health and general wellbeing.”
I believe MHFA training should be compulsory in all workplaces and every sector
